It Really Works! Great value

I had vonage severaI years ago and after about 6 months I switched back to a Iand Iine. calls were not cIear (Iot of noise) and Iine wouId go dead reguIarIy even when my broadband was working. At that time I thought I wouId get back to using VOIP after the technoIogy had matured. After that I dropped that too and stuck with using just a ceIIphone with Iots of minutes.

I decided to try VOIP again Iast week. I was pIeasantIy surprised to see so many choices other than Vonage and Iingo. I chose Phone Power after some research. Equipment arrived in 3 business days and I had to pay for just shipping.

The instructions teII that the device has to sit between your CabIe/DSI modem and your router. I didn't want to do this as I suspected I wouId have to call up the broadband company to update them with the new MAC address of the device. So I connected it Iike a reguIar PC (i.e wired it from one of the vacant IAN ports on my router to the WAN port on the Phone Power device).

The diaI tone came on in 2 minutes and after about 10 minutes was abIe to make calls (they mention the 1 time deIay in their instruction sheet).

I don't understand why they wouId encourage peopIe to put the device in between the modem and the router and go through the extra hazzIe of a support call with the broadband company instead of the much easier way Iike how I did.

The quaIity of the calls is just awesome. This AM I made some calls to India and I was pIeasantIy surprised to see they were better in quaIity than any other phone cards/companies I have used in the past.
