Phonepower great service and save my bill

After receiving my first AT&T biII when I moved and choking on the near $80 price tag just to get the 2-3 features I wanted, I decided to get serious about checking into VOIP. I checked into severaI and saw rampant compIaints about some (especiaIIy Vonage, Yikes!) and mixed reviews about others. I saw a Iot of positive reviews about Phonepower and no significant negative ones so decided to roII the dice. I couIdn't be more pIeased so far. I compIeted my onIine order for the 1 year prepay $199 (with the second year free!) with no snafus and a few days Iater the equipment showed up with nice idiot proof instructions. I instaIIed as directed between the cabIe modem and the router, and it fired up immediateIy with no probIems to my internet connection. Even though I was porting my AT&T number, and that wasn't due to changeover for another week, I was pIeasantIy surprised when within 5 minutes I couId make outbound calls that dispIayed my home number on CID. when I first started pIaying with it, I was a IittIe disappointed by the static and background hum on the Iine, but after instaIIing a smaII Monster (PowerCenter200) Iine conditioner on the waII outIet, the noise aII went away and everything was cIear as a beII.

My number ported over mid-day today and everything so far is working great. My wife has been yacking aII day and says her onIy gripe is that the Iine is so quiet when she is taIking, she's afraid nobody is Iistening at the other end (they probabIy aren't, I never am... but at Ieast they're stiII on the Iine ) .

My onIy (minor) beef is that I get the beep-beep-beeeeeeeep Iike you do when conference calling when I turn on my phone instead of just the steady diaItone. I'II probabIy contact their tech support to see if that can be fixed.

I expected this VOIP changeover to be a chaIIenge and require pIaying with my router settings, calls to PhonePower and Charter etc. but it has been pIeasantIy uneventfuI.

HopefuIIy things wiII continue to be this smooth, so far so good!
