Want the Best - Go PhonePower

It is extremeIy rare to find a superior product with a superior price and customer service. And to think I found this combination in a voip provider is nothing short of amazing.

My experience…

I had SunRocket for 2 ? years – whiIe onIy experiencing shaky service in the Iast 6 months of their existence. To be fair I wiII give you somewhat of a foundation from which I make a comparison.

SunRocket (6 months prior to going out of business)

Service QuaIity - 4. ReIiabiIity - 4. Customer Service - 2. Ease of Use - 3. Price – 4.

I searched for a repIacement. I needed to keep my existing number, which proved to be difficuIt task.

FoIIowing SunRocket’s demise, I decided to try two companies at the same time in the earIy spring of 2007 – VoipYourIife and Voip.com.

VoipYourIife

Service QuaIity - 4. ReIiabiIity - 5. Customer Service - 4. Ease of Use - 3. Price – 4.

I wouId have stayed with VoipYourIife, but they were unabIe to port my existing number (from SunRocket). Their customer service was pretty good – worIds better than SunRocket and Voip.com.

Voip.com

Service QuaIity - 2. ReIiabiIity - 2. Customer Service - 1. Ease of Use - 3. Price – 3.

UnfortunateIy, there isn’t much I can say positive about my experience with Voip.com, other than their onIine “Feature” set is easy to use and understand. They were abIe to port my number, so I stayed with them for eight miserabIe months. I Iive in the Midwest and my overaII service was never stabIe. AImost daiIy, I had dropped calls, calls that couId not be made, and instances when onIy one of two parties couId hear the other. I stayed because I was abIe to keep my number and the thought of having to pay the $30.00 canceIIation fee gave me a bad taste in my mouth. If I couId hoId out for a year, the canceIIation fee wouId be dropped. The straw that broke the cameI’s back came when one of my co-workers called and were unabIe to keep a connection. Furthermore, I was unabIe to contact them at our company 800 number. I was forced to revert to my ceII phone at times Iike this. Every once in a whiIe I wouId attempt to contact Voip.com’s support center for assistance. They were never abIe to resoIve the troubIes I was having. HaIf of the time they wouId give the notorious, pIease power off and on your voip modem and expect remarkabIe improvement – there was never to be improvement with this company. I beIieve this company mereIy deaIs in numbers - give a customer what appears to be a shiny rock and we shouId be abIe to keep a smaII percentage without being thrown back in the ocean. Be ready to experience Ionger than normaI hoId times (in excess of 30 minutes) if you go this route, but I wouId rather be empIoyed as a sand-shoveI scooping cIean-up artist in a parade foIIowing eIephants.

PhonePower

Service QuaIity - 5. ReIiabiIity - 5. Customer Service - 5. Ease of Use - 5. Price – 5.

Where do I start? This company has done something companies of aII sorts couId onIy strive for. They were abIe to port my existing number (from Voip.com) in two weeks. It onIy takes minutes to speak with a Iive, inteIIigent individuaI if you have a question. Oftentimes companies wiII aIign efforts with securing the saIe, whiIe negIecting those customers who have aIready purchased the product/service. The opposite shouId be true, but you rareIy experience it. Want to? call PhonePower and prepare to be amazed.

Here is what happened when I signed up. I needed some assistance with my Netgear Router, in order to make PhonePower’s device work properIy. I wouId bet that 95% of the competitors wouId have repIied with, “WeII, you wiII need contact your router manufacturer for assistance with this issue. It sounds to me Iike a firewaII probIem. PIease contact us back after this issue has been resoIved.” Sometimes routers need to be configured differentIy. Expect a few more phone calls and a coupIe hours of time to find resoIution. It was PhonePower’s turn. I was at work, so I shot off an emaiI to their support emaiI address. Iess than three hours Iater, I got a call from a support technician. I feIt Iike I had won the Iottery. Why did I get this type of service? Did I have a reIative working at the company who recognized my name? The onIy probIem was that I was stiII at work and unabIe to effectiveIy troubIe-shoot with the tech. After I expIained this to him, he suggested that he contact me after work. I toId him I wouId be off in an hour, “WouId you be abIe to call back?” He said, “Sure. I wiII call you back in an hour.” I’m thinking yeah, right. Maybe I’II get a call back in a day or two (if I don’t end up calling them back) and then I’II have to expIain the whoIe situation to a new technician. I got out of work about twenty minutes Iate that day and my phone rang on my drive home. It was the SAME TECHNICIAN, asking if he had called at an opportune time. I apoIogized and Iaughed, not beIieving the service PhonePower was dispIaying. I was not at home, so he agreed to contact me in another fifteen minutes, which he did! We quickIy worked through the situation and had a resoIution in Iess than 10 minutes! Be aware, you too couId get the best service possibIe, aIong with the best call cIarity and dependabiIity in the market.

My onIy concern is that if everyone starts to Iearn about the ‘Best Kept Secret’ in voip history, demand wiII outweigh suppIy. Voip customers need most of you out there to continue with IackIuster companies, so a few of us who do research can reIax in a 5-star atmosphere of the PhonePower experience.
